Dr Sebastian Denef, leader of COMPOSITE's Work Package 4 from the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT), presented research findings on the 5th of February at the SMILE Conference (Social Media the Internet and Law Enforcement) while highlighting the question on how police forces benefit from adapting social media. The SMILE conference is the leading conference emphasising the subject of using social media to improve law enforcement and engage citizens and is addressed to police practitioners, researchers, academics and others who are interested in social media and its applications in the field of law enforcement. The SMILE conference took place from 4th to 7th February 2013 at the Embassy Suites in Omaha, Nebraska (United States).
