The Berlin School of Economics and Law/Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin (BSEL/HWR Berlin, Germany), the Groupe Européen de Recherche sur les Normativités (GERN), the Centre d'études sociologiques sur le droit et les institutions pénales (CESDIP, Versailles, France), the Institut für Sicherheits- und Präventionsforschung (ISIP, Hamburg, Germany) and other partners are organising a collaborative project entitled "Comparative Research into Policing". This research seminar consists of a series of three conferences. The first conference on "Police Cooperation in the EU under the Treaty of Lisbon – Opportunities and Limitations" took place from 21st to 22nd of February 2013 at the BSEL/HWR Berlin.

The German COMPOSITE-team from the University of Applied Sciences of the State Police of Brandenburg (FHPol BB) was invited on the first conference day to talk about its best practice case study on collaborative work between police forces using the example of cross-border German-Polish Police and Customs Cooperation Centre (PCCC) in Świecko (Poland). The case study results have been presented by Mario Gruschinske.

The second conference on "The comparative study of policing – New challenges" will take place in Versailles (France, probably June/July 2013) and the third on "Migrants as Police Officers" in Hamburg (Germany, probably September/October 2013).
