The Italian COMPOSITE country team invited all country teams of the ten participating countries to attend this year's second COMPOSITE consortium meeting in the beautiful capital of Italy – Rome from the 5th to the 6th of November. Subsequent to the consortium meeting, from the 6th to the 8th of November the second End User Board and this year's first Advisory Board meeting took place in Rome too.
This year's first Strategic Advisory Board and the second End User Board meeting was held in the afternoon of the 7th November 2013 at the Corpo Forestale dello Stato, General Inspectorate, via G. Carducci 5 in Rome. Members of the respective board were informed about the current state of the COMPOSITE project and discussed upcoming steps of the project.
After a welcome speech given by Dir. Sup. Ing. Fabrizio Bardanzellu, Head of Service I of Corpo Forestaledello Stato, attendees got a brief overview of the COMPOSITE work packages on "adaptation of technology" (WP4), "structural and cultural changes in European police forces" (WP5), "the identity of the police forces and their legitimation in the participating countries" (WP6), "leadership in police organisations" (WP7), "knowledge dissemination" (WP9) and "monitoring, training & consultancy" (WP10). This overview was followed by (very) short presentations of all targeted chance studies which are conducted in the context of WP6&7. The project feedback to the End Users was rounded by a photo show where a selection of the COMPOSITE photo gallery, the artistic part of the project, was presented. The End User Board ended with a joint dinner including a special show at the Arciliuto restaurant.
After a welcome speech by Gen. D. Vincenzo Coppola, Commander of the Divisione Unità Mobili Carabinieri, attendees of the Advisory Board meeting were updated on the 8th of November on the COMPOSITE project by Gabriele Jacobs followed by a speech by Laszlo Polos from Durham Business School regarding the academic impact of the COMPOSITE project. The project dissemination activities have been reported by Jochen Christe-Zeyse from the University of Applied Sciences of the State Police of Brandenburg together with Dominique Lapprand from Capgemini who talked about exploitation.
On the last day of the COMPOSITE gathering a cavalry division of the Carabinieri showed their proficiency and embraced the participants of our consortium, End User and Advisory Board. A big thank to them!
